Dr. Michelle Hodgson is a native Houma, Louisiana. After obtaining her Bachelor's degree from LSU, she went on to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2013.
Following graduation, Dr. Michelle spent 5 years training under various veterinary surgeons in multiple states to further her knowledge base while also working as a relief ER veterinarian. During this time, she accomplished first author publications in both the journal of Veterinary Surgery in 2017, as well as the Journal of American Veterinary Medical Association in 2018. Dr. Michelle's professional interests include HQHVSN surgery, soft tissue surgery, shelter medicine and animal welfare. She is a member of the AVMA and is Fear Free Certified.
She loves playing and snuggling with her animals: Lilly, Tilly, Ruby Tuesday, Tater, Bull and Banjo. In her free time, Dr. Michelle enjoys spending time with her family & friends, tailgating and watching/ attending football games, live music/concerts, travelling, reading a good book, putting together puzzles, and playing the drums.
